Document Preparation & Verification

Gather and self-attest all required documents. Category certificates (OBC/SC/ST/EWS), domicile, income certificate — must be verified BEFORE registration opens.

MCC AIQ Registration (mcc.nic.in)

Register on the MCC portal, pay the registration fee (₹1,000 General / ₹500 SC/ST/PH), upload documents and verify. Deadline is typically 7-10 days after results.

State Portal Registration (Parallel)

Simultaneously register on your state counselling portal. Each state has its own fee, documents and timeline. EduTrack manages both registrations for you.

Strategic Choice Filling — The Most Critical Step

Round 1 Seat Allotment — Accept, Upgrade or Resign?

Check your allotment. Three options: (a) Accept & freeze — no further upgradation, (b) Accept & upgrade — keep seat but try for better in Round 2, (c) Resign — only if you have a better seat elsewhere. EduTrack advises the best move in real time.

💡 Never resign without a confirmed backup. "Accept & Upgrade" is the safest move in most cases.

Mop-up & Stray Vacancy Rounds

After Round 2, vacant seats go to Mop-up and Stray Vacancy rounds. Cutoffs often drop significantly. These rounds are golden for students who missed in earlier rounds.

Final Reporting at College

Pay the semester/annual fee online, report to the allotted college with original documents, and complete joining formalities within the deadline. EduTrack prepares you completely for this step.

Important: OBC-NCL certificate must be issued by a Tehsildar/SDM and must NOT be older than 3 years for Central / AIQ counselling. EWS certificate must be from the current financial year. EduTrack verifies your documents before every counselling round.

FAQ

NEET UG Counselling — Common Questions

Yes — this is highly recommended. MCC AIQ counselling and your state counselling are completely separate processes on separate portals with different registration fees and timelines. Participating in both simultaneously maximises your seat options.

Important rule: Once you accept and freeze a seat in AIQ, you are barred from state counselling in most states (and vice versa). If you accept with "Float" or "Slide" in AIQ, you can still participate in state counselling. EduTrack manages both portals simultaneously and advises you on timing at every step.

These are the three options when you receive a seat allotment in MCC AIQ counselling:

Freeze: You accept the allotted seat permanently. No further upgradation. You exit the counselling process and must report to the college.

Float: You accept the allotted seat but keep yourself in the pool for Round 2. If a better (higher-preference) college becomes available, you upgrade. If not, your current seat is retained.

Slide: You want to stay at the same college but upgrade to a higher-preference course within it.

After Round 2, remaining vacant seats go to Mop-up round. Cutoffs in Mop-up are usually lower than previous rounds — often a great opportunity for students in the mid-rank range.

Eligibility for Mop-up: Students who either did not accept any seat in Rounds 1 & 2, or who accepted but then withdrew. Stray Vacancy round follows Mop-up for any seats still remaining — often at private/deemed colleges with higher fee structures.

Maharashtra has a unique and detailed NEET UG counselling structure via the CET Cell (State Common Entrance Test Cell). Key features:

• State Merit List is prepared separately for Maharashtra domicile vs. non-Maharashtra students.
• Seats divided into: Government (85% State quota), Government Aided, Private Unaided, Deemed, and Minority colleges.
• CAP (Centralised Admission Process) rounds include: CAP Round 1, CAP Round 2, CAP Round 3 (if required).
• Institutional Quota (15% per private college) is handled directly by colleges — outside CET Cell.
• Fee Regulatory Authority (FRA) caps fees for Maharashtra private colleges.
